Supa Swap The Library supaswap-books.com

Ok this is a new one for me, I am going to review a website on a book blog. Odd I know but this is a book review site.

The site is part of the Guardian´s website and is titles Children's Books and can be found at http://www.guardian.co.uk/childrens-books-site.

We would like to recommend it at SupaSwap as a great site for you to pick books for your new little reader, maybe even get them to submit a review.

It is summer time and the first thing that we think about taking on holiday with us, after the swimming cozy and sun screen of course, is a good book to read.

It seems to be a western pass time to catch up on the reading you have not done in the year and to be completely anti social with whoever you have gone on holiday with. Ok that´s a bit harsh but your my point.

When I travel abroad the best books I like to take are travel guides about the area, because to be honest when I go on holiday I go to see somewhere different, to experience the food, the culture and the local ambiance. Yes I do take a reading book, well a kindle to be honest but I keep its reading to those dead times, on the plane, on the bus etc.

I´m a huge book fan, obviously otherwise this blog would be a bit odd, but there is a time and a place. Open your eyes and look around.

J.K.-Rowling

It's an age old question. Should you see the film before the book.

In recent years there have been some very high profile films which have been produced from a successful book.

Let's look at the Harry Potter books as a point in case. These books were extremely popular and due to this the 8 films were made. However I do not think I have met one person who believes the films replace the book and I have to agree.

Read the book first. The whole excitement of the book will be lost if you know what is coming and with a lot less descriptive detail. I am sure my colleague who writes the supaswap film blog may disagree.

Waterstones

Now most of you would have worked out by now that Amazon, new (well new in the world of books), trendy, online, virtual store and Waterstones, traditional chain of book stores are not really great bed fellows but they announced last night that they have come to a deal and it is over the Kindle.

Waterstones are now going to be selling the Kindle in what should be a very shrewd move to solve its digital issues.

Waterstones were said to say that they belied the Kindle had a place with their clients whom would like a book on their shelves but a kindle to take on holiday.

Well time will only tell how clever a move this will be be, but we at SupaSwap feel it is a move in the right direction.

What books are in The Library?

Supa Swap realises that although we live in a very digital world the book still has a lot of value, especially to the developing mind of a child. In its blog The Library, Supa Swap is endeavouring to give you reviews of some main stream books and some others that you may not have come across.

Our blogger, Carl, rarely has his head out of a book, apart from when he is writing his blog of course.

If you know of a book you would like him to feature why not make a comment on his blog. He would love to hear from fellow book worms.
